Jaco and Lojanka recently had their wedding at La Petite Dauphine in Franschoek. The wedding was co ordinated by Wedding Concepts and the décor and stationary was by Elsje Designs. The wedding went off without a hitch, and we had so much to cover as there was so much work put into the wedding, it was a pleasure to capture what was laid out in front of us. Not that there isnt always , but at this wedding it was especially intricate. We are blessed in the cape to have so many artists that provide to the wedding industry.

Jaco and Lojanka are both two unique souls and it was easy to work with them as they were just themselves and I think I was really able to capture that.

At one point in the day the wind picked up and I thought all the table settings were going to blow. They didn’t, but im thanking our lucky stars!!:)

Hope you love the images.

Gren and Ashleigh contacted my after a referal from friend and awesome photographer Monica Dart (she was busy…luckily for me). Gren and Ashleigh needed a photographer for their engagement party at Asoka, and I suggested that we combine it with a portrait session. We didnt have much time, but luckily we had some light left in the day, and we all went on a little journey around town.

Gren and Ashleigh are the owners and creators of the clothing shop Poppa Trunks. They have other ventures too, very impressive couple and super stylin!

Nicky and Marc (Portraits) Westside Studios and Bo Kaap, Kaap Stadt!!

Check out the rest of this fa”v”ulous Image Collection of Nicky and Marc.

Marc and Nicky are neighbours of mine!! Well they are now, and Marc actually helped me get settled in the building that I recently moved into. All you girls gushing to get to know me better, I now live at Westside Studios (Line up…not). It is of only totally coincidence that my business name is also called Westside Studio. So if your driving by and you think “Wow, he has a big studio” well you can know that it sadly aint all mine!
Nicky and Marc are getting married later in the year, and super fabulous friend and photographer Jules Morgan is going to shoot the big day. Besides now being friends the shoot was lots of fun and we got to use a 1965 Mustang for some of the shoot, and the shot of Marc stabbing the pan….well I have no idea what we were thinking. Did I mention Marc’s wine collection? Enough said. I hope you dig these!

Lelanie and Lambert and I (Im Ian), met at my studio and decided that we needed a loooong walk in order to complete our shoot. There is a certain place I like to go and Ill keep it a secret but its my favourite spot and I only use it 2 or 3 times a year. I dont know what it is, but every now and again, I will meet people like these two and think. Ok, the spot!! I shot Jason and Caryn there a few months ago and also shot there over a year ago with Tim and Vanessa. Anyway, these two aren’t even engaged yet. But a little bird told me that they might be soon. Weeeeelllll!!!!! What are you waiting for Lambert!!:)Your bride to be is so beautiful that I encourage you to make the date! A lovely couple, a lovely walk and my favourite, deep and wondrous portraits or two deep and wondrous souls.

Schalk and Huibre (wedding) Groenrivier, Riebeeck West.

Huibre and Schalk married recently at in Riebeeck West. at Groenrivier Wedding Venue. The area is one of my favourite places to shoot in all of the Western Cape, so I know when I am lucky enough to work there that the possibilities are going to be vast. Also, it helps when you mix it with two stunningly good looking people who are as adventurous as Schalk and Hiubre.

I met Huibre at Café Felix on the wedding day where we shot the preparations, and then my assistant Francois went and captured the guys getting ready. Café Felix too, is such a gem. After the ceremony I shuffled the bride and groom of to Riebeeck Kasteel to shoot in the little village there.

I could write for hours about how much I love the Reibeeck Kasteel/West area, but hopefully you can get a feel for that in this imagery that I’m proud to say I was lucky enough to capture.

Congrats to both of you Huibre and Schalk, and thanks to Elsje from Elsje Designs for recommending them to come to me for their wedding photography.
