Matt and Sarah are getting married!! Yes, I guess you figured that already! Anyway, it was a cool shoot and they are lots of fun. I find myself saying my best jokes to them. Well the two lame ones that I made up recently. Id love to tell you!
Francois and Clare (The rest of the Westside Photo Team) and myself were all at Oblivion one night recently in Claremont, and we bumped into these two crazy cats. Basically, I had to catch a taxi home by the end of the night and that was after I beat Sarah in a pole dancing contest. Ok dont ask me any questions!

Riandi and Pieter are some of my favourite clients ever, mainly because they are so much fun to shoot. You should check out there pre-shoot by going through my wedding photo blog below. Annnnnyyyyywwwwaaaaayyy! The wedding ceremony was held at Pieters home a few weeks ago in Durbanville, and thereafter we went on a little photo mission shoot along Long Street and then ended up at the reception at the Winchester Mansions Hotel in Sea Point. A really great venue for a lunch time wedding.
Anyway, the wedding was beautiful as was the bride and er…groom!

AS mentioned, a few days after their wedding Roniet and Scott met me eaaaarrrrlllllly at Clifton beach for a post wedding shoot. Have I mentioned today, how cool these images are?? I guess so!

This was my last wedding of 2009, so I thought I would end off with a big posting, and also as I normally like to put a few portraits from the wedding, and let all the other images be shared in my client area, I thought it would be a nice change……That and also a client told me that another photographer in the neighborhood tried to convince them that I dont take “fun” shots….Nice try guys!! Its a zoo out there!!
Anyway Hayley and Ori, have become good friends as well as clients and Armand who I work with and does all my printing and high end retouching is related to Hayley. Thanks for the referal Armand!!
I think I have to say that this wedding was the wedding of all time, if you are comparing a wedding to a massive party. The guests were all dressed to the nines and the ladies were stunning too! YIKES!
Catering was done by Blend Event Life (www.blendeventlife.co.za). I highly recommend them for your wedding catering. Also, DJ Rene (www.djrene.co.za)was at the helm and all Cape Town night goers know who he is and that he always has a party!! And really is the top DJ out there for events like a kick ass wedding!
Congrats guys. And Ori, yes we will def have to go fly the Cessna around Cape Point.

Roniet and Scott married at Zevenwacht a few weeks ago. I have shot at the venue a few times, and like it lots!! Its got a mix of locations. We also decided to do some shots after the wedding, and Im going to post those soon.
Recently I have been getting loads of enquiries from potential clients, and a common question I get is “We love your style its so different, but do you also do normal and fun shots”. The answer ofcourse is yes, we actually spend most of the day documenting the day as a professional wedding photographer normally does, but I personally love to shoot portraits, and that is why I generally display my favourite portraits on the blog. I also have a clients website http://www.ianmitchinsonclients.com . That is where one can log in and see all the images from their wedding and also share the galleries with friends and family. But I decided on this post to show a bigger selection of the non formal shots, so that it will give all a better idea of the different kinds of shots we capture. All though I am the first photographer on all my shoots, I also have a second photographer who is also a professional photographer with a wealth of experience (Francois Maritz) and he also captures different elements of the day. Basically, you can consider my company to be a full wedding photography service, that also sets out to capture beautiful fine art portraits that can be cherished forever.
Also, Westside Studio Films was the film team on this day, and I will hopefully post a sneak peak video from Roniet and Scott’s big day.
I am currently taking bookings for 2010 & 2011 season, and have a new price list and packages. IF you are interested to see complete weddings or interested in my new packages, then please don’t hesitate to contact me. Next season I will be taking select bookings so let me know asap so that I am not booked for your day.
PEACE Out!

Rob and Lauren were married recently at beautiful Molenvliet Wine Estate. The wedding was amazing in terms of excitement and such amazing organization and decor. Planning a wedding in South Africa from the UK, is no small task when also running a business. However Lauren did such an amazing job, that I was quite blown away.
It was also cool, to shoot their wedding, because they know some of the people in my family and some of the guests were also my clients. Its a small world!!
The wedding was fab and so well put together, and the dirty dancing at the end….was to remember. Amazing music was by DJ Rene. Have to recommend him if you want your wedding to be a full on Party for all the guests.

Caryn & Jay wanted their portraits to be done around Table Mountain, as they live so far away in the Western Universe called the UK and want images to reflect where they came from and where they met. What made the shoot so special for me, was how important it was for them to do the portrait shoot. Whenever I shoot a wedding I always include a pre shoot so that I get to know the clients, and viceversa, and also so they get more than just wedding images of themselves, the one time they are likely to hire a photographer (now fellow photographers….thats my sales pitch…so think of your own…LOL).
Anyway, on my quest to get all my clients fithily beautiful and stinking wet, Caryn and Jay needed a bit of convincing to get in. Well im so glad they did and helped me to continue my collection of water portraits.
The big day for these two is Feb 6th. I cant wait. It will be my first wedding upon return from Dubai, which I head off to tomorrow!!

Bernard and Carmen met me at Noordhoek beach recently to do some shots around the area. If you like my work or follow my recent updates, I guess you will know by now that I love shooting in the water. I dont know what it is about the water, but I could shoot everything in it if it was possible (and if the clients were always willing!!). Im actually going to be working on a project with another super well known and talented photographer on a fashion/water series of work. I wont announce who it is just yet, but lets just say, the photographer is one of the best in SA and your sure to know him, and his amazing work. That project will be rolled out in April, and involve some other well known designers, make artists and stylists…..Its better to keep you wanting to know more…isnt it???
Anyway, Carmen and Bernard are a cool couple and willing to do whatever, so it makes it so easy to work with them, and I was up for a challenge because Carmen is also a professional photographer.
Their wedding will be later this month.

Angela and Andrew are 2 amazing people that really remind me of what true love really is. They celebrated their wedding recently after driving a landrover from Holland to Cape Town through the middle east and Africa.
I have so many beautiful images of them, so I just thought I had to share a sneak peak kind of thing from a shoot we did recently in Camps Bay.
I will be posting again soon, as I have so much beautiful work that just needs to be seen. I hate the idea of Trash the Dress!! but I guess this follows in that realm, and rather I just wanted to take photos of beautiful people in beautiful settings, that still celebrate our deepest emotion.
